Dr. Selim Tiryakiol

Received his MA (2013) and PhD (2018) in Turkish Language Education from the Institute of Educational Sciences at Marmara University; during his doctorate he was a visiting researcher at Central Connecticut State University, and from 2018 to 2020 he worked as a lecturer at Yale University. From 2023 to 2025, funded by a European Union Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action, he carried out postdoctoral research at UiT The Arctic University of Norway (Tromsø) on Norwegian-Turkish bilingual children and adults; during the same period he was a visiting researcher at the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading (UK). His interests include language processing, language development in typical and atypical groups, digitally-aided language learning, and human-computer interaction.
Miray Devecioğlu
PhD Candidate & Lab Manager
Graduated in Turkish Language Teaching from Marmara University and completed her master's degree there in 2023. She has been a doctoral student at the same institute since 2024, working on linguistics, Turkish language education, and writing instruction. Her interests include language acquisition, multilingualism, comparative linguistics, and language typology.
Fatmanur Öznur
Master's Student
Completed her undergraduate studies in Special Education Teaching at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. She is now a master's student in Early Childhood Special Education at Istanbul Medeniyet University and works as a special education teacher. Her interests include speech and language disorders, specific learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and evidence-based practice in early childhood special education.
Nisanur Akyüz
Master's Student
Completed her undergraduate studies in Early Childhood Education at Istanbul Medeniyet University, where she is now a master's student in Early Childhood Special Education. Her interests include developmental language disorder, early language development, and real-time language processing. Her thesis examines language comprehension in children with developmental language disorder within a predictive processing framework.
Süeda Ünlü
Master's Student
A speech and language therapist and psychologist, she graduated from Üsküdar University in Speech and Language Therapy (2024) and Psychology (2025). She practises clinically and is a master's student in Early Childhood Special Education at Istanbul Medeniyet University, having gained research experience in multilingual language development through Erasmus placements in Norway and Germany. Her interests include multilingualism, speech and language disorders, stuttering, and voice disorders.
